A former professional football player, Jason Gesser was a First-Team All-American quarterback at Washington State University (WSU). Since he graduated in 2002, WSU has continued to develop quarterbacks who have excelled at the collegiate level.Four of the team's most recent quarterbacks, Connor Halliday, Luke Falk, Gardner Minshew II, and Anthony Gordon combine to hold all major Pac-12 passing records. While Falk holds all major career passing records, Gordon, the team's quarterback during the 2019 season, completed one of the most impressive individual seasons of all-time.Gordon registered 606 yards passing and six touchdowns during the team's third-to-last game of the season against the Oregon State Beavers. This led to 4,920 yards and 45 touchdowns on the season, both of which were single-season Pac-12 records. Minshew held the previous passing yards record with 4,779. Gordon, a fifth-year senior who was a zero-star recruit out of high school and made only three pass attempts at WSU prior to this season, finished the year with 5,579 passing yards and 48 touchdowns.
